Motor insurance is a compulsory class of insurance for all vehicles licensed to be used on public roads, as per the Road Transport Act 1987. Motor Insurance is a Tariff class and is governed by the rules and regulations stipulated in the Motor Tariff issued by Persatuan Insuran Am Malaysia (PIAM). The types of motor insurance available are private car, motorcycle and commercial vehicle policies .

In the Event of an Accident
1. Get the following information:
i) Name & I/C number of third party;
ii) Address and vehicle number of third party;
iii) Insurance company involved and policy number.
2. Lodge a police report within 24 hours.
3. Inform your insurance company or agent immediately, Submit Claim Form together with Photostat copies of:
i) Registration Card; ii) Road Tax Disc; iii) Identity Card of insured and driver; iv) Driving License; v) Police Report; vi) Copy of Policy.
